That one month

I remember spending November and December of 2005 in Beijing.

It makes me smile, looking through my old photos.

I remember the thrill of being in a country where I couldn’t communicate in English, let alone, speak Mandarin.

Imagine having a life outside of the United States…

To be responsible, yet experience the entertainment, culture, spontaneity and/or routine, friendships, and perhaps,  semi-relationships that develop.

A taste of life — in a different space and a different environment.

To take each experience and make the best of it.

With no boundaries.

It’s a refreshing feeling.

I need rejuvenation again.

Where to go… on short notice, for a week or two?

On a side note, “You’re right, I get it.  It all makes sense.  You’re the perfect person. So right.  So wrong… “  …is stuck in my head.  It complements my mood so well.  And the beginning instrumental is freakin’ awesome.

A bit hypnotic.

A bit bitter.

Residual feelings surface

as the month comes to an end.
