Grok

I pursue happiness, however I can.

When I am wounded, I lose sight of the good things in life.

I stumble around, trying to find gray, amidst my black and white world.

I am…

  • learning to be a gracious loser.
  • learning to have patience and restraint.
  • learning what i really need.
  • learning to take a logical approach to situations. *
  • learning how to manage rejection reasonably. *
  • learning how to be less emotional. *
  • learning to stop regretting the past, worrying about the future, and to live in the present.
  • attempting to cure myself from feeling like I’m missing out. *

* Have not learned how to do yet.

This personal blog is used as a means of communicating my…

  • personal development
  • experiences
  • revelations
  • successes
  • failures
  • happiness’
  • disappointments

Most importantly, it’s a place where I can express my thoughts.

    Cheers!

One of my best friend’s calls me her “fortune cookie.” It’s just another nickname. Anyway, that’s how it originated. :)

Tehehe. That was intentional. It’s a play on our culture and how we mistype common words. Anyway, I know what you mean — I’m pretty particular about having things a certain way as well. :)

What you are attempting to “learn” is actually to “practice”.

For example: if I act like a gracious loser, every time I lose, eventually the behaviour of acting as if I am gracious, becomes second nature. Then like a bolt of lightning, I suddenly realize that I have changed something that I did not like about myself; a defect of character that was not spiritual in nature.

So to learn the things you speak of you must actually practice them…act as if that is what you are until it becomes part of your nature. However, that is just my humble opinion and personal experience.

Thanks for the insight. I agree that what I am really doing is “practicing.” Semantics! :)

I like what you said…. about what u want to learn…. I should really try and learn many of those too! But I never thought about trying to change them! Logical approach to a situation? Too emotional? Isn’t that just my personality; can’t help it I’m a girl! LOL… No but seriously good stuff and I love the name of your blog I got it straight away ;)

Thanks. I have this notion that we’re all programmed to be a certain way — have certain characteristics, quirks, and what-have-you, but they’re only guided by our environment and the society we live in. We can program ourselves to be something else. We are not confined to being “purely emotional” — if we don’t want to be. There’s quite a bit of autonomy in our life, whether we like to admit it or not. Often times we blame the external (which does have an impact), but ultimately, we have the ability to change ourselves amongst all the chaos that-is-our-life.
